Carter attended Boise State University and then graduated from the American College where he holds the Chartered Life Underwriter Designation (CLU®) , Chartered Financial Consultant designation (ChFC®) and the Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow designation, (LUTCF).

Carter was on the United States Junior Olympic Ski Team for two years and  the United States NCAA College Olympic Ski Team for three years.
He spent 10 years as a Professional Skier and Coach. Heading up Winter Park , Colorado , A Basin Colorado and Broadmoor Colorado. Carter was Head Coach at Spokane Washington with two mountains ,Mt Spokane and Silverhorn Ski Area.
 
He was a guest coach for the United States Ski Divisions in the West and spent several summers as guest coach at the summer racing programs in Mt Hood Meadows, Oregon..

Carter is currently the President of the Austin Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP).  

An adjunct teacher with the University of Texas in the Professional Development  Department.
A life member of the National Eagle Scout Association.  
 
He served in the Sergeant Major position as Director of the United States Army Reserve Schools in Texas with 25 years of distinghuised service in the US Army.

A qualifying member of the MDRT ( Million Dollar Round Table)

Carter has 3 daughters Stacy,Amy, and Tiffany.
